Shipyard Golf Club - Hilton Head SC

Yesterday, I visited Shipyard Golf Club on Hilton Head Island. It is one of the Heritage Group's fantastic golf courses which include Port Royal, Oyster Reef and Palmetto Hall, a total of 7 wonderful courses for your pleasure.

Generally, I put a course picture up, but Shipyard is a bit unusual from the others with more wildlife than I have seen at most other courses. This Great Blue Heron is only one of its inhabitants. If you go to Shipyard say Hi to "Big Al" a 14' gator that swims in the lake immediately behind the clubhouse.

The Shipyard has 3 different nines which have plenty of water, bunkers and true putting greens. This was a truely great experience and pleasure to photograph and play. The staff was friendly and accomodating and they have an outstanding grill.

Check it out for yourself while visiting Hilton Head Island and the surrounding area.
